Our marketing team is looking for a lead designer to help us craft and tell the stories of our products and our company, connecting with customers across a range of multiple platforms, from small pieces to multi-channel campaigns. Working from our Omaha headquarters, you’ll be responsible for managing multiple creative tasks while overseeing and coaching a small team of graphic designers. You’ll work on digital projects, printed materials, our super infamous swag, event collateral, and a ton of other things we haven’t even imagined yet!

This role requires a highly creative leader, a strong team player, a self-starter and a problem solver who can work well with both with stakeholders and staff, thrive on high-pressure challenges, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment. You will be expected to have a strong sense of our business and use that knowledge in combination with your creative super skills to define and pitch concepts, manage resources, and oversee and complete design work.

You're a solid fit for this position if...
  • You have a portfolio that demonstrates a passion for and proficiency in digital design work (landing pages, ads, emails, etc.)
  • You have a strong understanding of branding, typography, color, and layouts
  • You’re excited to work within our current brand guidelines, and help us evolve it as new opportunities arise!
  • You’re a team player and believe in helping creatives do their best work
  • You have an expert command of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
  • You have previous experience leading and coaching other designers
  • You can scope, plan, and lead design activities from initial requirements to concept, interaction design and development
Our idea of a perfect candidate is someone who...
  • Can collaborate with team members at all levels and embrace thoughtful feedback
  • Wants to develop a deep understanding of digital marketing, customer acquisition, and conversion tactics
  • Is results-driven and detail-oriented
  • Has a WordPress site or seven in their portfolio
  • Has experience creating or evolving powerful brand narratives
  • Has additional skills that add depth to the role: UI, UX, product design, video/art direction, etc. are all huge strengths!
  • Has impressive organizational, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills (and a positive attitude!)
  • Has an understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript (not required but helpful)
This role will be responsible for...
  • Designing solutions for marketing materials, such as paid, email, social, marketing landing pages and homepages
  • Achieving an in-depth understanding of our product, market, and messaging
  • Developing creative campaigns and strategic concepts that meet Flywheel’s business objectives and advance our brand objectives
  • Partnering and collaborating with other team members to ensure the consistent application across all visual representations of the brand (both external and internal)
  • Coordinating with internal creatives and outside vendors and freelancers
  • Overseeing design and production through all stages of creative development to ensure high-quality, on-budget and on-time delivery that meets or exceeds expectations
  • Inspiring, developing, and mentoring the other crazy-talented designers on the marketing team
