Here are some of the details about contributing to Layout!
We’re looking for brilliant advice to help creatives do their best work. This includes business tips, WordPress tricks, development tutorials, inspiring roundups, opinion pieces, creative interviews, and everything in between! The more advanced or personal the experience, the better.
You bet! Just don’t get started on more than one until you’ve talked with our team. We’ll make sure all your brilliant ideas align well with our calendar first, so you don’t do any extra work!
If you’re accepted as a paid contributor, we’ll try our best to pay you within 48 hours of the final edits to your article. We use PayPal to put money into your account quickly, and we'll even take care of the transaction fees!
Once you type up a draft (in Google Doc format!), an editor from our team will review it and leave some suggestions to make it shine! We’ll pass it back to you for final approval, at which point we’ll submit your payment and add it to our queue to publish.
We care more about quality over quantity, so we prefer not to set strict word counts. If you must know, however, the average article falls within 1,000 – 2,000 words!
