Due to some complicated tax NEXUS issues, we had to revoke the affiliate status of all affiliates currently residing in Ohio and Texas and are no longer able to add new affiliates who reside in those states. The Nexus laws in these states consider affiliates as “establishing a physical presence” in that state, which creates a lot of complicated taxation situations.
We have gone back and forth and around and around on this, but until we are set up to either properly collect sales tax on these plans (or we have an alternative solution), we have to temporarily remove all affiliates currently residing in Texas or Ohio from our affiliate program. We will continue to monitor any legal changes and are actively working on developing a solution, but our hands are tied with these state laws. We would absolutely encourage you to contact your state representatives and let them know you’d love to see a change come soon.
