We’ve officially entered our fifth year in business with a whopping 100 employees and over 70,000 users!
Over the past five years, Flywheel has expanded from three founders to a three-digit team of engineers, support staff, marketers, salespeople, and more. We’ve grown from a small office in a co-working space to over 12,000 square feet nestled in the middle of downtown Omaha.
“For us, it’s a philosophical difference when it comes to how we think about building products and solving questions for designers and agencies. We’ve built WordPress sites and been in the shoes of our customers. Our goal was always to build something more than a hosting company and create products that dramatically improve the quality and simplicity of building a WordPress site.” – Dusty Davidson, Flywheel CEO and co-founder
True to that promise, our offerings have been crafted from the ground up to make it easy to build, launch, manage, and scale WordPress sites. With the Flywheel hosting platform, we created a beautiful, intuitive dashboard that makes the client-designer relationship so much easier, allowing users to add collaborators or transfer billing to their clients without passing passwords or credit card info back and forth. All of that is crafted with the classic managed WordPress tenants of nightly backups, steadfast security, blasing-fasat speeds, and a massively impressive uptime reputation. Our second product, Local by Flywheel, is a sleek and simple local development application that is making waves within the WordPress community.
We launched in 2012 with a simple mission to help designers do what they love. Our fifth anniversary comes with the announcement of a new, elevated mission: to help creatives do their best work. That mission is fulfilled day in and day out by the creation of products and resources designed to help anyone building WordPress sites do more of the work they love to do, and less of the work they don’t. That translates to more time for creativity and design, and less time spent struggling with servers, SSL, or site speed.
“We can say with great certainty that, five years in, we truly build relationships with our customers and are a part of their work each and every day. I’m more excited about the future of Flywheel now than I have been at any other point.” – Rick Knudtson, Flywheel CMO and co-founder
