Charging for recurring services, like web hosting, is a great way to guarantee monthly income for your agency. Follow the links in the table of contents to learn about services and service tiers, charging for a one-time service, canceling, or editing a client subscription.
If you have Growth Suite, you have most likely noticed the need to create Services. We encourage set services, pricing, and descriptions to create predictable and consistent recurring revenue for your business.
A service is any work you offer to your clients. e.g. web design, hosting, or content management.
In this example, we will set up Hosting as our first Service (as we hope you all are reselling Flywheel’s hosting!)
A service tier is the price point you set for the service. Creating services with tiers helps you organize and maximize your offerings while maintaining consistent pricing.
Let’s create a Basic tier for our Hosting service:
And then a Premium tier for our Hosting service:
Think of Services as the folder, and Tiers as the files within the folder. It is a way to create a hierarchy within your offerings to ensure you have service levels and price points that cater to the varying needs of your clients.
You can add a one-time service by going to the Manage > Services > Create Service. You will then have the option to make it recurring or not, select no.
After the one-time service is created you can then create an invoice for that client.
You will be prompted to select the billing frequency, select Once only. On Step 3:Invoice Details, you will only see those services created to not recur as an option.
When creating an invoice you have the ability to add a custom line item with or without a tier, during Step 3: Invoice Details.
Upon sending this invoice, you will be asked if you want to save any custom line items for future use.
Check the items you’d like to retain, click the Save as a Service button, and fill out the required fields to add the service(s) to your library.
Whether you are adding new services to a client’s subscription or need to increase pricing, editing active subscriptions can be done in a few clicks.
