Flywheel and GDPR

The GDPR is a European Union (EU) privacy law that will set a new standard for how companies use and protect the data of EU citizens. It regulates how any organization that is subject to the Regulation treats or uses the personal data of people located in the EU. Personal data is any piece of data that, used alone or with other data, could identify a person. If you collect, change, transmit, erase, or otherwise use or store the personal data of EU citizens, you’ll need to comply with the GDPR. These changes went into effect on May 25, 2018.

We’ve updated our policies for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). After hanging out with our lawyers for a while, we are happy to roll out these updates to make it easy for everyone to see what kind of info we collect, why we collect it, and how we plan to use it to provide value and a great experience for you and your clients. Our goal isn’t simply to check the box on GDPR, however; we see this as a real chance to be more forward-thinking about data privacy and set the standard for the future of our industry.

We’ve also made the following updates:

• Enhanced email settings: We updated our email settings so you can select the specific types of messages you want to receive. You will always be able to update these at anytime via the link at the bottom of every email we send.

• Experts in data protection: Flywheel’s staff includes security and privacy experts who work tirelessly to develop new review processes, build secure infrastructure, and implement our security and privacy policies.

• Processes for GDPR requests: We set up our internal infrastructure to ensure all GDPR-related data requests can be responded to and handled appropriately.

• Updated Data Protection Addendum: We updated our GDPR-compliant Data Protection Addendum (“DPA”), and made it available for you here.

• Agreements with third-party vendors: As always, Flywheel will never sell, rent, or lease your information (name, address, email, etc.) to any third party. Any vendor we use to provide services will also be held accountable to GDPR.

These changes are to help you better understand and control your privacy choices with Flywheel. Please note that your future use of Flywheel’s products, services, and sites is subject to these updated policies and terms.
