Every site created on Flywheel comes with a temporary domain, making the site immediately accessible to you even before you point your own domain name to it. These domains reside at either flywheelsites.com
or mysites.io
(if you have a Growth Suite plan).
When you first create a site on Flywheel, you’re given the option of customizing the temporary domain. If you leave this field blank, we will generate a random URL for you.
Once your site is created, you’ll be able to access it in your browser using this URL. For reference, it’s displayed on the site dashboard under the site name.
To choose a new temporary domain, hover the 3-dot menu in the “Domains” box on the site’s Flywheel dashboard and select Edit Temporary Domain.
From there, you can create your own temporary domain, or have Flywheel generate a random one for you.
If you have problems or questions regarding the temporary URL or anything regarding domains, Flywheel support is here to help!
