We know that migrating sites from one host to another can be a bit time-consuming, stressful, and confusing, which is why we’ve worked hard over the years to craft a free, effortless migration experience with the help of our Happiness Engineers. Today, we’re excited to share a new method for moving sites to our platform: The Flywheel Migrations plugin!

So to recap, there are two different ways to move a site to Flywheel:

  1. Use the Flywheel Migrations Plugin: fill out a few details and let your new BFF, the Flywheel Migrations plugin, do the rest.
  2. Submit a migration request: our team of migrations experts handles it for you entirely, for free!

Forget the hassle of independently moving your database, pictures, and plugins, because our migration plugin will do all of this for you. All you need to do is enter a few details about your site and click submit. That’s it, seriously!

The Flywheel Migrations plugin is now available to install through the WordPress admin of your site. And best of all, it’s completely free to use!

Ready to try the plugin? To get started, simply follow these steps (or just check out this nifty help doc!)

  1. Install the Flywheel Migrations plugin.
  2. If you haven’t already, be sure to create a site on Flywheel. You can even spin up a demo site (free for 14 days)!
  3. Fill in the fields with the details of the Flywheel site, including your destination URL, your Flywheel credentials, and Privacy Mode credentials.
  4. Submit your migration!

We’ll notify you via email once the migration is complete! Or if you’d like to keep an eye on the progress, you can track the status of your migration at any time through a custom link we provide.
