Here at Flywheel, we’re always working hard to make sure your sites are backed by the latest and greatest technologies. This week, we’re announcing support for one of the most anticipated: PHP 7.3!

This is an incremental release with significant benefits to Flywheel customers on both our Cloud and Classic platforms. Sites upgrading from 7.2 to 7.3 can see up to a 10% increase in speed. Additionally, keeping up with the latest PHP version guarantees you’ll have the latest feature set and are avoiding security vulnerabilities.

We’ll be upgrading sites using PHP 7.1 starting on February 24th. Sites using PHP 7.2 will start on March 18, 2020. The subscription owner will receive an email notification seven days prior to the update noting the date and time it will be completed. If you’d like to upgrade before then, just let our support team know and we’ll get your site set up on 7.3!

Additionally, as of this week, all new sites on Flywheel will use PHP 7.3. If you have any questions about the upgrade, feel free to reach out to the support team from your Flywheel dashboard.
